Let me get this straight.
Person asks the internet for a name of a cartoon they watched that featured a robot that could transform into other people that was running from the government. The internet did not respond. (well, I did but that was a week after the question had been posted)

A different person asks the internet for a show with a blonde girl and silver robot and the internet responds: The Zeta Project.

...really?

lol. You know that old trope where someone abducts a girl and her friends and threatens to kill her friends unless she will marry him?

Yeah. Fireball XL5 did that...only she had 2 captives.

I think that's the first time I called the captive a two-timer. AND! I'm pretty sure the girl has a crush on Steve Zodiac but she's actually married to the robot lol.

Lately, I've been reading some cartoon theories. I'm surprised I haven't explored this before considering my fandom choices.

Some of my favourites.
Inspector gadjet is a robot duplicate of the man Dr. Claw once was after a tragic accident. The accident drives Dr Claw mad which causes him to want to distroy the robot that replaced him. Penny also gets away all the time because Dr. Claw still cares for her being her uncle and all.

The smurfs are the result of a cloaning expirament done by Papa Smurf. After creating 99 of these artificial beings he turned himself into a smurf to help guide them in creating a civilazation.

The babies in Rugrats don't exist and are products of Angelica's imagination because her mother ignores her and her relationship with her father is shallow and parasitic. In reality, Chuckie died along with his mother, which is why Chaz is such a nervous wreck. Tommy was a stillborn, which causes Stu to sit in the basement making toys for his son that never had a chance to live, and the DeVilles had an abortion. Angelica couldn't decide whether the unborn child would be male or female and thus simply invented the same character in her head twice with different genders.

Neat :)
9th-Feb-2013 11:04 pm - Figure Skating Match
beezle

Really been bugging me. I watched this figure skating match on tv back in probably the mid 90s. It wasn't the Olympics but it was still an important match. Either to get into the Olympics or get into the match to determine if you made it into the Olympics. Nationals, sub nationals...I don't know a thing about figure skating, I'll be honest. It was a couples competition and this one pair did a fantastic job. It was revealed later however that the girl got injured during the performance. Apparently during this move where the guy lifted her over his head and she did the splits something got pulled or injured. They showed several playbacks of this move. It was apparent to me that they kept on doing these playbacks as they were delaying showing the pair (getting their scores I imagine) because the girl was not quite ready to be seen. I think there was even a commercial break (never has figure skating been so suspenseful!). They eventually showed the pair and you could tell the girl was really really trying to keep herself composed. Their scores were awesome and right at the top or near. I tuned in later and they had won second. Hurray! What really struck me as amazing was how this girl was injured during the performance and she was able to carry on to the point where the announcers didn't notice until after they were finished. I was impressed.

I'm trying to figure out the name of this pair to track how the rest of their career went. They had guts, I expect good things. The only other clues I can offer is it would have been on a Canadian or USA channel and I'm pretty sure they were wearing purple.

Ever have those moments where half of your brain is not quite on board with the other half?
Tried typing "cartoon" into a search engine but my fingers fell asleep 3 letters in. They had a slight "oh shit" moment realizing they were supposed to be done when the thumbs went for the space bar so they typed in a surprise "d' and hoped I wouldn't notice. I did catch them in the act but not before they hit enter. Those little bastards.

Shockingly, "princess painting card 80s" did not return the results I wanted.
